Football Manager 2020 goes free to play on Steam as coronavirus forces people to self-isolate and work from home

It’s been widely reported that the suspension of sport due to the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in more and more people turning to video games.

And one game to particularly benefit has been Football Manager 2020, which has seen record numbers of concurrent users – and even current and former players getting in on the action!

Darren Bent has demolished Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team on FM20 – and made the Reds even better!

As more and more people have to self-isolate or work from home, it would come as no surprise to see more and more people turn to FM20.

And now is the perfect time to get stuck in given the game has gone free to play for an entire WEEK!

Announced on Wednesday afternoon, FM20 is free until 3pm on Wednesday, March 25 – with the game accessible on PC or Mac via Steam.

If you (like so many others throughout history) get addicted during the free week, you can buy FM20 outright and continue exactly where you left off.

Will that be taking Gateshead from non-league to European champions, or San Marino to World Cup glory?

Only you can decide just what type of career you want in the game…

Perhaps this free week will get you so addicted you break the Guinness World Record for the longest ever game of Football Manager – which took in a whopping 333 seasons and almost 2,000 real world hours!
